Alphabet Photos

Michelle and I, Chris and Jonathan...had a terrific time stomping around the West Bottoms of Kansas City. What a trip. We parked under the 12th street bridge and just started walking. We took pictures of about everything we looked at and had some great adventures along the way. We started out at the Good JuJu store goodjujukc.com where we were all very excited it was open and walked right in...we made it about 5 feet before the owner informed us we were not welcome and the store was closed. We left and they shut the door right behind us...oh well moving on. So we started walking on down towards the train tracks and under the bridge and ran into a "Real" photo shoot...this rather overweight shady looking guy taking pictures of models. It was the real deal we guessed...they had a booth set up for makeup and dressing rooms and everything. Kind of cool. We came to the conclusion that they were strippers, although I am not sure how we came to that. Jonathan was keeping us posted on anything going on with the models. He was a great Lookout for us. We continue around the different blocks...taking advantage of every photo op we had. The best part is to come..SOME HOW...I think Chris had something to do with this..we end up right infront of Pole Worx..yeh I will attach the link for all interested parties http://poleworx.com/ Can you BELIEVE I did not take a picture of Michelle and I on the poles. Did not even think of it...Rookie move. Great times...Great times. Who knew in the West Bottoms you could learn to Pole Dance, learn to Box...and hit a Architectural Salvage shop all on the same block. I guess Chris.

We decided to clean our act up a little bit and headed back to the car to go to Union Station. I have to say...we did not pick up many pictures at Union Station and were way better off in the bottoms. ALTHOUGH...Union Station does have this really amazing Fireman Museum that is a must see. You cannot touch anything except the little firetruck with the bell...but you CAN look at all the neat antique fireman stuff. Anyone that knows Chris...knows he is a fireman and I am just joking around with him. Gotta love me Chris!! The Museum is small right now but the firefighters are just starting this project and they do have great
plans and alot of work ahead of them. On a serious note...congratulations on the museum and it really will be awesome!!

Ok...so now to the photos...remember, this was our first trip "into the field" for this new way of art...taking pictures of things around town to make letters. So you have to use your imagination on some of them...and when put together in an actual word, you would see the letter alot easier. Its like I am trying to make excuses for the craziness to come. I SEE an F..I SEE an A..I SEE an S..I SEE a J...you get the point.

Blog2Print.com

I have been on a mission lately. I have spent almost a year keeping up on this Blog. Alot of journaling...and memories that once gone..would be gone forever. I have asked several people, including my husband...how the heck to save my Blog to something else besides with Blogger. If something happens with them it would all be lost. Well no one had any answers and I could not figure it out myself. UNTIL...I just was googling how to print a blog and came up with this website. Blog2Print.com...it is amazing how simple it is. It uploads it and sorts it for you in a bound book and there you have it. Your complete blog in a hard bound cover book to save forever.

Since I did start this blog in January...I am going to wait until 2010 to print the 2009 blog in hopes that maybe I can make this a tradition to have a journal to print every year. I am really excited about this...I scrapbook and have lots of memories in them....but nothing like journaling on a mostly weekly basis about things going on in our lives at that time.

Our Home in the Fall

Swine Flu hit HERE !!

Well it is true....I have Swine Flu. H1N1 or whatever other name you want to call it.(I can think of a few) I am officially a statistic..one of the numbers for Clay county. What an experience. As many of you know...I do not watch T.V. so when I caught H1N1...research started. It is one of the craziest viruses I have ever had. One hour you can be thinking you are on the road to recovery and the next hour you feel like you are on your death bed. The next day you can spend the whole day in bed barely able to move and in extreme pain if you decide to...then the next day feel pretty good...to just have it all hit you again that night. Last night I thought maybe I was kicking this stuff...and then today woke up to exhaustion and dizziness. I was planning on spending the whole day disinfecting the house..because surely I was done with this craziness...but NO...it had another plan for me. A day in bed. I thank God that my headache has left and can only hope that does not return. The vomiting has been limited to one day at the beginning of the week and I think I should be grateful for that. So I am left with the weakness and dizzy spells. I have also accepted that I will be the subject of bacon jokes for quite a while. I asked Jeff to make me a sandwich yesterday and he said "let me guess...ham and cheese add bacon" I tell ya folks...I live with a comedian!!

Pepper or Buttons...depends who you ask

I thought everyone would enjoy meeting our temporary puppy. Jeff works with a lady whose daughter found Pepper at an intersection. She stopped and picked him up and took him to Harley to see if anyone wanted him. We said we would post something on Craigs List and put him in our back yard until we had a response. That lasted all of 3 minutes...he escaped under the fence like he knew exactly where to go. Of course, the owner did call and we had to give them the news that "Buttons" had run off....that is when they let us know his name was Pepper. Well "Pepper" was gone. He did manage to make a house full of kids cry that he ran off...before they could even pet him. However, he must of felt bad...because he returned the next day for about 5 minutes and escaped once again. The next day after that, Ashley was waiting for the school bus and saw Pepper standing in the middle of the street. I ran down the street and called his name and he ran right to me. Needless to say, Pepper stayed INSIDE to wait for his owner verses being in the back yard. The owner was there to pick him up by 6:00 that night and Pepper went home safe. Jeff had to keep my head on straight....I would of kept him!!

Saturday Blues

For the last couple weeks we have been home battling Sarahs pneumonia and this weekend Emma and I are battling some sort of illness that is not identified yet. We are calling it the H2N3. Emma has been running a fever of 103.9 off and on for several days. No other symptoms except the fever and just laying around. I am not running much of a fever..maybe peaked at 99.3 and just feel yuck. Not many other symptoms for me either...crazy!! So Sarah and Ashley just headed out to go to the pumpkin patch...just to get out of the house. Emma and I are curled up watching movies and playing on the computer.

20 Year High School Reunion

I wish I could put these in order after I post them...but I can not. So the posting about Sarah is the current one...and this happened earlier in September...but was worth posting about!!

Jeff celebrated his 20 year class reunion in September downtown at a Nara. It was alot of fun watching him relive all those memories and seeing all his friends from high school. He actually has kept in touch with several of them. I got a couple pictures of the girls he had a crush on in high school and I really enjoyed embarrassing him by requesting the picture.

I did manage to capture some pictures to share with everyone!! And of course...every class reunion has to have the one girl that everyone laughs about...and yes, I did get that pic too. And to think...I almost wore that SAME DRESS !!!

October?? Whoa !!

Well October is giving us a run for our money. We have started out the month with Sarah trying to recover from pneumonia. She had been sick for several days when they decided to do a x-ray on her chest...Thank goodness...because it ended up she did not have H1N1(which is what they convinced us it was before) and was actually struggling with pneumonia. We are going on week 2 of missing school and she is ready to be well. It breaks my heart seeing her struggle with this and I am ready for my baby to be well again. Please keep her in your prayers.

Our pumpkin patch is in full swing and we have picked 3 pumpkins so far. We have 10 more on the vine that are large and close to ready. I still laugh at myself every time I pick one. What a dork!!

I will keep you posted on Sarahs recovery!!

Where has September gone?

I cannot believe it is the end of September. I have not posted anything in weeks and I am embarrassed at my lack of attention to my blog. I know all my loyal friends are disappointed in me...especially my mom!! lol !! ;o)

Things have been fairly run of the mill around here....working, eating...sleeping. Not alot of excitement in the Harned household lately. Our weekends have consisted of regular upkeep of the house...gardening, cleaning, reorganizing...it never ends.

We did pick our first pumpkins. They are sitting on the front porch and I was happy to see that other people in the neighborhood already have fall decor out. I am not going to be named the crazy pumpkin lady!!

The girls are doing great in school. Sarah and Ashley are both playing Soccer and Sarah is getting ready to start Fall Volleyball. She is really excited about Basketball starting back up and cannot wait to get back out on the court. Ashley will be starting Basketball this season also and is really excited!!

Sarah has started walking with my mom and I in the mornings. I am so proud of her. She gets up with no problem and talks our ears off the whole walk. It truly is funny to hear her tell her stories and thoughts of the morning. It usually is many!! It is a real blessing, after walking with my mom for 15 years, to see my daughter join us and enjoy the tradition of our morning exercise.

Nap time is over...I know this is a sorry excuse for a posting...I apologize. It is a rainy day and that is just how I feel !!!
